Room-mates

Okay, so sharing a room isn't all that great. I guess sharing a room with a teething 12month old isn't probably the best for anyone's sleeping schedule. We haven't had too much trouble at night- Avalyn seems to sleep through anything at night. Cambria does wake up too early at times and of course my little morning butterfly has no problem waking up an hour early with her sister. The biggest issue is naps, they just can't do it at the same time and Avalyn still needs one on most days. Oh well, I guess I am in the market for a new pack-n-play in the closet for nap times and by the time baby #4 is here and in the closet Avalyn will be done with naps for the most part. Avalyn does love having her sister in her room, she request her to be in bed when I put her down.

A Busy Week

Sun. was our Super Bowl Party with our Sunday School class. Great fun with lot's of friends and tons of kids (at least 20 kids). I have no pictures, but the 120" projector came in handy along with the playroom and an at times peaceful living room upstairs for the moms to hang out.
Some warmer weather. Over the last couple weeks it has warmed up around here. Of course it only last for a few days or so, but we will take it. This winter has not been nearly as bad as last and I am praying it continues that way while Kyle is gone.

By Mon. Cambria was sick, throwing up everywhere, not eating, and sleeping a lot. She was sick for a couple of days and by Wed. she was well and Thurs. Gavin was not. It was refreshing to have a kid puking in a bowl (he didn't miss once, we were so happy with this). Around 5 pm Gavin was in bed asleep and then it hit Avalyn. Of course Kyle had to work on Thur. night for a little while, leaving me with Avalyn (not a good combination with the way I've been feeling). Avalyn was by far the worse, I had to clean the bedding from 3 beds, 2 mattresses and give her at least 5 baths. In the end there was no warm water and she had to sleep on the floor in our bathroom in her sleeping bag. It was a long week of sick babies- I can't even begin to count how many times they puked between the 3 of them. The pack-n-play is basically trash, the smell is awful and after all the traveling I've done with the three kids over the years, not to mention Cambria sleeping in it for the past year it is probably time to get rid of it.
The Girls are officially roommates! With no way to use the pack-n-play, Cambria was out of our closet by Tues. and into her crib in Avalyn's room. It was about time and so far, with the exception of Avalyn's night of sickness, it has gone well. They do wake each other up at times and Cambria doesn't sleep quite as well as she did in the dark closet during the day. Avalyn's nap time is definantly not as regular, since they don't nap well at the same time. Over all it has been good and Avalyn is happy to have her sister in her room.

After all this sickness on Thur. we were worried about our big day out with the kids on Fri. Kyle got off of work, my friend offered to watch Cambria, and we bought tickets to CoCo Keys indoor water resort. We told the kids before Kyle left that we would try to go, they wanted to go after seeing some commercials for it. It was a big surprise and they were so excited when we arrived. We let Avalyn take a much needed nap early Fri. and then headed to the water park around 1. It was a wonderful day. The kids had a great time despite their sickness just the day before. Avalyn was a bit tired and refused to eat all day, but she loved just sitting in the kidy pool and riding in the lazy river. Gavin had a great time on the slides and in the water. It was nice to just spend time with them, letting them do whatever they wanted to do. (sorry about the blurry pictures, I tried)

Playing in the Kidy Pool!

Tired and ready to go- they fell asleep in the car by 6pm and slept through the night!
On Fri. Kyle found out that he leaves this Thurs. and I am dreading it more than anything. It doesn't become real until the word is given and know it is. We have been trying to do some fun stuff with Daddy, but I don't think anything really prepares for him being gone so long. Gavin asked the other day if I could write on the calender when Daddy is coming back, and I sadly had to tell him it doesn't fit on the calender (I only do one month at a time). He knows it's coming and he is very sad about it, but it takes a while for it to sink in and usually doesn't hit until several weeks into the deployment. I can't wait till JUNE! I will be headed to Texas after Gavin's preschool graduation in May and will be there till June. I will be right here in Omaha till then, please feel free to visit! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I guess I will have to better at this blogging thing to keep Kyle updated- so look forward to much more to come!
Trying to get a picture of her smiling, still no luck! she is still so cute!

Avalyn is 3!

I just didn't get around to this on Fri. Jan.23 when my little Avalyn turned 3. It is hard to believe how fast the time has gone. She is so big now and seems to be aging rather quickly, sometimes it feel like I am living with a teenager. She is super sweet and super lovable, but like most 3 year old's she has her moments. Girly to the core she loves dancing, dress up, shoes, dolls, crafts, and playing pretend. She does well at her "play"school (Mother's Day Out), takes direction well and loves to learn. Her spirit is one of a kind and a very precious part of this family! Happy Birthday Avalyn Rose! We Love You!!!

Of course I had to try to make a cake Avalyn would actually eat, so I made a cookie cake with her favorite M&M's. I guess it was a little thick and she didn't eat much of it- oh well I tried and the rest of us liked it.

Why not?

I Never Grew Up is giving away a stroller! I could definantly use a new double stroller around here. This one looks great!

My Baby is 1!

Cambria turned 1 on Mon. Jan. 19th! We are so proud of our little sweet girl. The girls wore their matching birthday shirts- they said "one cute birthday girl". I got the cake out I had made for the party and we sang to her. Of course there wasn't much reaction and she barely touched the cake, but she looked so cute and she did enjoy playing with the pink spoon. She eventually touched the cake a little bit and after the candle was blown out by big sister she decided to eat the candle and got a little taste of icing. Not impressed with icing I attempted to give her a cracker (she has not done well with table food) and she tried that. Happy Birthday Cambria!

Not too impressed with the cracker, but she tried it!
Cambria at 1!
She is crawling more.
Climbing stairs.
Pulling herself up to stand with support.
Keeping her glasses on!
Drinking whole milk (even cold).
Exploring everything.
Loving life! and we just LOVE her so MUCH!!!

The Girl's Birthday Party!

This past Sat. we had a Birthday party for the girls. It was a lot of fun and we are so thankful for all our friends who came to celebrate. There were around 30 people (including kids) here at our house for a Hello Kitty party. I painted faces, the girls made necklaces (Avalyn's request), the kids watched A Horton Hears a Who and played all over the house! I didn't get a single picture of Cambria at her 1st Birthday Party- I know that's pretty sad. She was so tired that she slept through most of it, including cake and presents. Not to mention it takes her a bit to adjust to lots of people in her house. I did save her cake and we sang to her on her real birthday on Mon. Avalyn on the other hand, enjoyed every minute of her party. She was so happy about her cake Kyle and I made and when everyone sang to her she was glowing! Every gift was special and being with her friends is always important to Avalyn. Avalyn will be 3 on the 23rd (Fri.) and we are so proud and shocked at how fast time has gone!

Trying to act shy as everyone sang to her. She was so happy!

Our friend Alyssa and her princess I painted.

Gavin as BUZZ! Of course.

Pregnancy and Blogging

Well, the 2 have not mixed well for me. I am queasy much of the day and the thought of blogging just makes me tired. So I promise to catch you up and do my best to keep it up.

Here's a few pictures of some snow fun! The kids have enjoyed it this year, but I am ready for it to end- I hate the cold and the bundling up to do anything. We are a having a short break and it has warmed up to the 40's, but snow is surely to arrive this weekend.
Right after some fresh snow just fell. The kids had fun, but it was too cold to build the snow man. The cutest thing was when the snow was falling Avalyn asked where the snowmen were. Kyle did manage to make a little one and put it of the side of the stairs (in the right of the picture).
Avalyn swimming in the snow. We love the snow suit and shoes!
Finally building a snowman during Kyle's lunch break with our friend Sidney.
