So Big!

Caught! Yes, Ainsley is already trying to climb the stairs. Time to get out the gates- ugh!

Avalyn flying a kite in her yellow leotard, pink sparkly shoes and pink hat of course. She has refused to wear this leotard to dance all year and saw it hanging up the other day and refused to take it of for several days- don't worry I didn't let her go anywhere but dance in it.

Daddy dressed Cambria up for bed in one of Gavin's shirts- at of course she was being cute and happy as she always is at bed time (I thinks she knows if she is good she might get to stay up longer- it does work :)

Ainsley could teach her big sister Cambria a few things about eating. She loves feeding herself, usually teething biscuits, crackers, and even french fries. This little one will probably not be eating baby food for long (like Avalyn and Gavin did).

She started pulling herself up a couple weeks ago! Now she just needs to figure out how to get down.

New Glasses!

April 15, 2008 was the day Cambria was diagnosed with albinism and she got her first pair of glasses (at just 12 weeks old)!

April 2009 a new prescription and a slightly bigger frame.

April 2010- same prescription, but 2 new pairs of glasses. We are thankful that her vision isn't getting worse at this point and she was able to keep the same prescription. Her old glasses' 2 year warranty was up- meaning we'd have to pay for any adjustments or fixes (her glasses are over $400 and insurance pays $0). If you've had a toddler with glasses you know you need the warranty (covers anything that happens to them), so now is a good time to get a new pair and thanks to a punch card (you earn money toward a new pair after you spend a certain amount) from the place we buy them we were able to get a second pair for $30 (without the transition). We will be gone before the warranty is up, so I figured let's just get them now! I was excited to pick them out.

At 12 weeks old you only have 4 styles to pick from- I got the smallest pair they had and as you can tell in the picture they were still big. I wanted to try a plastic pair to see if they were more comfortable than dealing with the constant changes of the nose guard. This is the smallest plastic pair they have and I've wanted them for her since the first time I ordered her first pair, and they finally fit (well almost).

She keeps them on just fine, but they will need a slight adjustment to the nose guard to keep them up. They were able to put the ear wraps on them so the stay put!

Of course we need a pair of wired frames- this time a slightly different shape and purple. The magenta pair on not transition, they work well for her inside and on extremely cloudy or dark days (and will be nice for pictures outside in shaded places), so this little purple pair will probably get much more use. She squints alot or just shuts her eyes if it is really bright, so she really needs the transition if she is outside- this picture was taken after being outside so the transition had not completely changed when I took this.

After a little egg hunt and looking at baskets we went to my brother-n-law Kevin's parents house for lunch and another hunt. It was a good time, with lot's of kids to play with!

A surprise arrival and visit!

Early the morning of Good Friday we were at my Grandparents house, along with my sister Christine and her kids, when we got a call from our sister Kathryn. She was in the hospital, 3 cent. dilated and they were waiting to see if anything would happen. At 37 weeks and 5 day it was a little bit of a surprise. B y 10:15 Kimber Lindsay Perkins had entered the world and with the hour Christine and I decided we just had to go! We were just a short 7 hours away, nothing was going to stop us. We didn't want to take 2 cars so we had to loose a few kids. Thanks to our wonderful Aunt Judy and cousin Katrina, Cambria had a place to go and they even offered to take Ainsley! Gavin went back to Christine's with my brother-n-law and niece and nephew. Avalyn insisted on going to see baby Kimber- she was absolutely perfect the whole drive there and back! We arrived in San Angelo that night and surprised Kathryn and Kimber (and my mom- we told no one)! We sent Avalyn in the room first and the look on their faces made it worth every bit of trouble to took to get there!
