The wait is over!

Okay, so at least some of the waiting is over. We still have to wait and sell our house, for school to get out and then buy a house to move, but at least we know where we are going and when! In 2006 Kyle felt the calling to go into medicine and on Mon. Nov. 15, 2010 he was accepted into medical school! It's been a long journey between work, deployments, earning a health/science certificate from Creighton University (undergrad classes he needed- since his first degree was in political science), having a few more kids, taking the MCAT twice, applying to 4 med schools in TX and 2 interviews. He finally got the ultimate result, his #1 pick the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX! He loved the school at his interview, it's my home town and my parents are there, it's hard to believe it's actually happening! We are excited to raise our kids in TX and near family. We love it here in Nebraska and it's is going to be really hard to leave our wonderful friends, but it's time and Kyle and I have both felt strongly about that over the last few months. God has truly been at work in all of this, timing everything perfectly and preparing us for what's to come. It has been amazing to see! Last year at this time we didn't feel ready to leave, but this year it has been clear and on Mon. watching Kyle's hard work and God's perfect planning come together was awesome!

We knew San Antonio would send out their first acceptance emails at 8 am on the 15th, we've been praying for so long that we would get results on that day (otherwise you have to wait to see if you get to fill a slot for someone who rejects it). Kyle checked at 8:10 nothing, 8:15 NOTHING, it was quite sad until 8:30 when the email appeared and cheering erupted (from those of us still at home, plus Kyle's friend Ryan who was visiting from Minn. and waited to see if we heard anything). It was shocking and wonderful to see Congratulations! Nothing was ever sent from the other school that interviewed him (A&M), it is clear San Antonio is where God wants us! The feeling when your plans/dreams align with God's is like nothing else! Now onto our next chapter in life- well at least in a few months. Kyle begins in July and we want the kids to finish school here so we are praying we are able to sell our house by April, buy one during Spring break in April and move in June! There is still lot's of prayer needed!

We are so Proud of our DADDY and so excited about moving to Texas!

I found this pig a few months ago and thought it be the perfect congratulations gift! I waited till it went on sale and bought it hoping I'd get to give it to him:) The kids helped me sign it and told me what they wanted it to say.

Avalyn immediately went to her room and got the first coin to put in it. We will need every PENNY in Med. school;)

Avalyn was just a baby when Kyle made the decision to change careers. Wow! Time goes by so fast!
