I was a little shocked at the # of teacher gifts I needed for my 3 kids in school. 13!!! Crazy I know. Gavin has 1- no problem. Avalyn is a peer in the early childhood preschool program and has 3 teachers, for her class of 6:) She absolutely adores preschool and her teachers, she is there 5 afternoons a week and is sad that there is a winter break.
That would leave Cambria, yes the rest are hers:) She is just 2 and goes to preschool 2 mornings a week. There are 9 amazing women on her team. I couldn't leave anyone out, they have all worked so hard to help her develop. Her visual specialist, OT, and service coordinator have worked with her since she was 9 months old. She has an incredible teacher along with her 2 assistant teachers. Cambria must have a personal (para) teacher with her at school, there are 2 that rotate along with the speech therapist that works with her at school. Words can not express how thankful we are to this group of women who have taken Cambria in, they love her, encourage her and have taught her so much. I could have never imagined what it would take to work with a child with special needs and would have never expected such undivided attention. Our public school system here in Papillion has been amazing and we are praying to find something like it in San Antonio:)
I was trying to keep cost down on the gifts for all these special teachers, so here they are. I bought $1 fake apples at WalMart and painted them, wrapped a bow around the stem and a string to make them ornaments. They did take quite a bit of time to paint, but they turned out pretty cute. Merry Christmas to all those teachers out there!
