Vala's Pumpkin Patch 2010!

We finally made it out to Vala's Pumpkin Patch! I was determined to get there, since this might be our last fall in Nebraska. We love fall here and all the amazing things to do. There are several pumpkin patches (the real one's with fields of pumpkins to pick) here near Omaha (one right down the street from us) and we have visited all of them, but Vala's is by far our favorite. We've been every year since we've lived her and have always had a wonderful time. We've gone early in the season (not so busy), right before Halloween (busy), in the cold, in the heat, in the rain, during the day and at night- it never fails to be a fun place! There is so much to see and do. It is beautiful, with lots of trees, flowers and pumpkins every where- it is a Happy place, not scary, perfect for little kids with plenty to do for big kids. It is extremely popular, so you can expect a crowd on most days (especially closer to Halloween). You can also expect to pay, but thanks to Cambria's early childhood program at school, we got tickets for $5.50 (2 and under are free). The only downside to the tickets was that they were for a Friday the week before Halloween and the party with food and marshmallows was from 5-8. We decided it was worth it and we would go early, to avoid some of the crowds. We got the kids out of school around 2, crowds weren't bad and we got a great parking spot, not too mention the weather was PERFECT! The only line we ran into was out to the pumpkin patch. We left when the crowds were picking up around 6:30. Didn't do everything, probably could have stayed for several more hours, but with the 2 little ones it was time to go. It was a wonderful "last" trip to Vala's!

The kids LOVE to jump on the big orange pillows in the ground (have no clue what they are called). They are massive bubbles (made of bounce house material), filled with air, surrounded
by sand. So much fun for bouncing and sliding down the sides (they are probably around 8 ft tall). They have 3, each for different ages. The kids could probably spend hours on them!

Cambria hanging out with Daisy Ducky.

Going to see Mickey Mouse, Cambria loves to say "Mickey Mou"!

We have quite a few family pictures in front of this Mickey Mouse, glad to have another!
Every year we take a picture of the kids on the rocking chair, this year it didn't work. Cambria was terrified and Ainsley was too squirmy. Oh well, at least we held onto them long enough for a family picture!

Waiting in line for the hay ride!

Going to find a pumpkin!

The Pumpkins!

A nice little ride back.

Ainsley was determined to get off my lap and play with the hay on the hay ride.

We will miss this place!

So fun! We used to go there. I think we only went once, but I remember it well. We didn't get to go to my favorite one here before we leave. Oh well. Maybe Houston will have a good one.
