So proud!

At least once a day Cambria gets a bottle of breast milk. This has been something I have worked on since she was born. Gavin was okay at the bottle and Avalyn would never take a bottle, so I was determined to have Cambria take a bottle. I found a great breast pump on clearance and have been collecting milk like crazy. It has been wonderful to have her take a bottle when we are out of the house (she has never been good at nursing in public) or if we leave her with a babysitter or in the nursury. She has done well from the begining with the bottle and we were thrilled to see her holding the bottle by herself the other night. She was taking it out of her mouth and putting it back in. Gavin and Avalyn never did this, until sippy cups came along when they were a little older. I don't know if she is quite ready for me to just hand her a bottle, but we are so proud to see this developement. She is very delayed right now, so it is wonderful to see her do something new. It is common for babies with albinism to be delayed, but they do eventually catch up. At her 6 month baby well check, the doctor agreed that it looks like her delay is due to her poor vision, but encouraged us to have the early developement group from the school system come out (which we had already called). Her theropy will begin on Aug. 13, so we look forward to see what comes of that! We also expect to see some improvement after her upcoming eye surgery (when she is 9 to 12 months old). Thanks for all your prayers! We will keep you updated.
