Eye updates- Cambria and Ainsley

Today we had an appointment with our Pediatric Ophthalmologist! We were able to get a referral for Ainsley to get her eyes checked at the same appointment. The referral wasn't easy to get, but came just in time. We didn't think she had albinism (based on lack of symptoms), but there was the 1 in 4 chance so we want to make sure (symptoms can be different).

Cambria's eyes haven't shown any improvement since her appointment in April and today she was focusing out of the other side of her eyes. I don't know exactly what to think of that, but the Dr. wasn't concerned he just said her eyes still haven't made up their mind. Next appointment is in April- they will dilate her eyes and she usually gets a new prescription for her glasses. All is well and she is as happy as can be. Still working with therapist on feeding and sensory issues and about to begin speech therapy! As delayed as she is (about 8 months) I would change a thing about her. She is such a joy- as you can tell in these pictures of her smiling. There are no little smile for this sweetheart.

Now on to Ainsley's eyes. They look great- no albinism! He said she is far-sighted, but nothing to be concerned with now. We were glad to hear this good news. Such a sweet little blessing. She is doing well, sleeping 5 to 6 hours most nights and becoming more content during the day. She does love to be held- and insist on it in the evening- don't worry I love to hold our new little bundle!
